Swedish Massage (Relax):
This is the most common type of the massage therapy in the United States. Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you’ve never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.
Deep Tissue Massage (Escape):
targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes (or friction techniques) across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems and recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.
Swedish Massage.
Hot Stone Massage (Helps inflammation, muscular injury and a rejuvenating experience):
is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly. Episode’s Hot Stone Massage employs a variety of strokes and techniques using the stones and hands, working over kinks in your muscles. You are unlikely to feel the intensity, since your muscles will be relaxed by the heat of the stones. Your therapist may alternate between different stones for different reasons. Our Massage Therapist requires additional time before the massage to prepare the stones and after the massage to clean up. The cost of our hot stone massage can be slightly higher then our other massage services.
Prenatal Massage (Stress Relieve for mother to be):
is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Massage Therapists who are certified in Prenatal Massage know the proper way to position and support the women’s body during the massage and how to modify techniques. Prenatal Massage is used to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to a women’s individual needs. *To receive a Prenatal Massage, you must be out of your first trimester.
